a network committed to acknowledging and addressing the role of
shame in healthcare
As a project, we have spent a long time thinking about how best to harness the growing interest around shame in healthcare, and as such, we have formed the Shame in Healthcare Network. The network is an inclusive, international group of interdisciplinary professionals who are committed to openly acknowledging and addressing the role of shame in healthcare through discussion, collaboration, and scholarship.
The Network will host a series of quarterly webinars that will explore various aspects of shame in healthcare through expert presentations and group discussion. Each webinar will last one hour and will feature a guest speaker talking about a dimension of shame in healthcare, followed by safe, open, facilitated group discussions. Knowledge or understanding of shame is not a pre-requisite for joining! We only ask that you bring curiosity and a commitment to establishing a safe and open environment through which shame can be meaningfully explored.
