The Shame.less Storysharing Event was the inaugural project of our international consortium to advance awareness of shame in healthcare. The event—completed in May 2023—centered on stories submitted by medical students at Duke University, University of Exeter, and Duke-National University of Singapore Medical School about experiences of shame during medical training.

We received a broad range of stories reflecting the cultural richness of the three global regions in which the students live and learn. We selected three students to partner with regional professional artists to tell their stories through graphic narrative. Follow the links below to view the graphic stories and reflect.
